Workshop – Branding the word: Empowerment

Our students were giving a task for five weeks from one of our teachers: Omar Pasha to create an idea based on the word: empowerment. Empowerment refers to increasing the spiritual, political, social, or economic strength of individuals and communities. It often involves the empowered developing confidence in their own capacities. The term empowerment covers a vast landscape of meanings, interpretations, definitions and disciplines ranging from psychology and philosophy to the highly commercialized self-help industry and motivational sciences.

The word empowerment was the starting-point for the students to create their concept of making the world a slightly better place. In the five weeks the students were given the time to think, create, make and present their concept. At the end of the five week all the students got the opportunity to present and sell their concept in the form of a pitch. A pitch is basically a sales presentation to convince an audience of your great concept.

I honestly want to paraphrase and share all the great concepts with you, but in protection of the ideas from our students I will only give you a little sneak peek.

One student made a movie to pitch here idea.

Another student presented her idea in a well put slide show.

Some of them even came up with two great ideas.

One of our students wanted to give his presentation on the roof but for some reasons the elevator would not cooperate. Some of us got stuck so we end up holding his presentation on street.

The end results were really great. I would not be surprised to see some of these ideas come real in the near future.
